I never saw the fake BBXB Facebook page. Those claiming to see it allege it contained hundreds of “members” who had not joined and whose identity was exposed, or at least whatever Facebook presence they used was exposed.
Those alarmed were, essentially, anyone who knew about it and had reason to think they’d been added to the group without their knowledge and permission.
To this day I’m not sure who here was concerned about this fake BBXB group because when I attempted to bore down into this detail I was practically mobbed by complaints of irrelevancy coupled with failure to answer my questions.

At the time of my advice in question I did not know whether BBXB closing down whatever Facebook group would or would not solve the problem. I only knew there was potential harm occurring and that it might be something BBXB was responsible for via Facebook. Hence I knew one thing for sure: BBXB could not not act. (Yes. You read that double negative right) To say it another way, whether the BBXB Facebook group was at fault or not, it was potentially a big problem hence should be closed immediately until things were settled.
The fake BBXB Facebook page was something I continued asking about because at the time it appeared to me some discussants were overlapping complaints between the two without clarifying which specific Facebook group their comments were aimed at. I’m not sure some even knew which they were complaining of! So I was asking questions. Many of those questions were never answered because they were presumed irrelevant by a few who went on to say as much.
As I understand things here and now, the fake BBXB group caused much alarm because of the potential problems it posed for people, but it was not something BBXB could control.
I also understand that a BBXB Facebook group launched by a BBXB volunteer also caused much alarm because of the potential problems it posed for people, and this was something BBXB could control and should have deconstructed much sooner than it did.
All that said, I see no instance where I said a thing that I failed to answer for when questioned or failed to clarify upon request, and you have not shown readers an instance of either. If there is such an instance whoever finds it should feel free to ask. I have no problem answering for things I say or clarifying things I say.

I clarified why I advised as I did early on for anyone caring to read what I wrote. It’s all there.
My advice was based on the potential of harm that was reported to me.
My advice was not based on intricate knowledge of who did what when, or how this or that piece of Facebook technology works or does not work.
Knowing what date I gave this piece of advice and specifically to whom is irrelevant to why I offered the advice I did. Moreover, that specific information is not something I spoke of to answer for or clarify.

It was enough to say the individual was one of the then published decision-makers of the group.
The question asked me was of a conversation I had many weeks ago. Do you know how many phone calls I make a day, not to mention how many I receive per day? Do you know how many different phone lines my calls come in and go out on?
I don’t know if it’s even possible for me to figure out the date I offered the advice in question.
As for the person I gave the advice to, when I speak privately with someone that’s where it stays unless I have permission to share it or ethics demands that it be shared. This instance is neither.
What besty asked about is not mine to share. I shared my experience and left if for folks to make of as they wish, which is how it should be. Whether anyone believes it or not is of little concern to me, if any.

On Watchtower issues I work with a lot of individuals on projects. This keeps me in the middle of many things and with many individuals.
Then I have my own work and my own archive.
I share what I can when I can as I can.
If your impression is that I speak to things I don’t know then that’s your impression. So what? We’re all entitled to think what we want.

No one’s asking that you explain anything to me or that you understand anything for me.
All I’ve asked is that if, as you claim, you can show readers where I’ve refused to answer for something I’ve said, or to clarify something I’ve said when requested that you then show that.
If what you say is true then proving your claim should be as easy as quoting something I’ve said that I then refused to answer for or to clarify upon request.

This is an interesting comment coming from a local developer. I have to wonder if it’s part of a circling of the wagons because of the 100-year birthday of God’s Kingdom (according to Watchtower theology).
Right now Watchtower is pretty far along in the process of having congregations in the US acquire infrastructure for online sharing of Watchtower’s annual meeting. Based on last year’s event, this is now a primary venue for launching “new light”. Formerly this was done at district conventions or in pages of the Watchtower journal.
Above someone spoke to revenue from district conventions. This event is a primary revenue source for Watchtower, and has been for decades. But I’d wager that Watchtower could clear much more in the way of “excess above expenses” (otherwise known as profit) by localizing the event and having congregations/circuits bear any expenses involved.
